Teds visited Praia Fluvial de Loriga in the Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela in the mountainous part of Portugal.
This “beach” is right inside the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, in the Loriga glacial valley, traces of which are still visible. The pure, crystal clear waters of Loriga River Beach come from a spring in the mountains, and it is surrounded by a preserved environment, in a rugged area of outstanding natural beauty. It’s a place of tranquillity and serenity, and was a welcome spot on a hot sunny day. We were the only people there and there was also a lovely little cafe that was open too.
